Privacy Policy

Effective July 10, 2026

ParrLei (“we”, “us”) is a bettor community and bet tracker. It is not a sportsbook: no wagers are placed here, no money is deposited here, and we never collect payment information. This policy says what we do collect, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it.

What we collect

Account: email address, username, and a password hash. Optionally a bio, social links, and a profile privacy setting.
Your record: the bets you log (picks, stakes, odds, captions), comments, likes, follows, and the reactions others attach to your bets (Parrots, Fades, Hedges). Grading outcomes are computed by our system from licensed sports data — never self-reported.
Usage & device data: IP address, request logs, device/app version, and push-notification tokens if you enable notifications.
Nothing financial: no card numbers, no bank details, no deposits. Stakes you enter are numbers you type, not money we hold.

Public by design

ParrLei is a social record. Your username, your bets, your verified record, and your comments are visible to other users — and, unless your account is set to private, to anyone on the web. A private account limits your record to approved followers; your username and aggregate rank may still appear on public leaderboards.

Why we use your data

To run the service: feeds, profiles, grading, leaderboards, notifications.
To verify records against third-party sports scores (the point of the product).
To moderate: handling reports, blocks, and enforcement of our Terms.
To secure the service: rate limiting, abuse and fraud prevention.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising. We use service providers to run the product — hosting (Vercel, Fly.io), database (Neon), caching, email delivery, and push notifications (Expo) — each processing data only to provide their service to us. Sports scores and odds come from third-party sources; nothing about you is sent to them. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account — and the personal data attached to it — at any time: in the app under Settings → Delete account, on the web under Settings, or by request via our account-deletion page. We may retain minimal records where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, and system-generated aggregates that no longer identify you.

Your rights

Wherever you live in the US, we honor requests to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information — email hershelthomas@gmail.com. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

Age

ParrLei is for adults. You must be 21 or older to create an account. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them — if we learn we have, we delete it and close the account.

Notifications & email

Push notifications are optional and controlled by your device settings and in-app preferences. Emails we send are transactional (verification, password reset, security notices). Any future digest email will carry its own unsubscribe.

Changes
